This page is the minimum information to get started,
a more detailed explanation is available at WelcomeGuest

Documentation is everyone's job

  • Browsing documents is easy, just click on the links like any other web page.
  • The real magic of TWiki is that anyone can edit any page at any time.
  • If you see something that is incorrect or out-of-date: fix it!
  • If you can't find documentation, add it!

To edit, you must first create an account

  • Go to the TWikiRegistration page and fill out the form as follows:
  • First & Last Name: Rudy Albachten
  • Your WikiName: RudyAlbachten (Note: No spaces and capitalize first and last name)
  • Your password: its_a_secret
  • Email address: rudy@albachten.com
  • Everything else is optional

To edit an existing page

  • Click on the word "Edit" at the top or bottom of the page
  • Edit the text for that page
    • You can use raw text, special wiki text, or even html
    • Simple wiki formatting is described at the bottom of the page while editing
  • When you've finished editing, click on "Save" or "cancel" at the bottom of the page

To add a new page

  • Pages are almost always named using WikiWords
    • A WikiWord starts with a capital letter and has a mix of capital and lowercase letters with at least one capital letter in the middle of the word
  • Edit an existing page that will point to the new page and add a WikiWord for the new topic (e.g MyNewPage)
  • When a page has a WikiWord it automatically is a link to a page by that name
  • If no page exists by that name, you'll see a '?' after the name. Click on the '?' and it will create an editing session for the new page

What's a "Web"

  • Twiki refers to the highest level sets of documents as "Webs". We have the following webs:
    • Main: user accounts and sitewide information
    • Chandelle: pages relating to the ChandelleFlyingClub
    • Sandbox: area reserved for experiments and learning
    • TWiki: TWiki documentation and software settings
    • Trash: Trash area - documents aren't normally deleted, they are moved into the Trash web instead
  • The only web we typically will edit is the Chandelle web
